Alternate campaigns

Video game concept

Offers different storyline depending on which character or faction the player chooses, each with a different ending.

Alternate name: Alternate storylines

The first video game about Alternate campaigns was released in 1986.

Infocom, Electronic Arts and THQ has published most of these games

Use multiple endings for cases where the endings are tied to your actions in-game rather than chosen faction or character at the beginning of the game.

Only cases where the campaigns overlap each other so the storyline is different depending on the choice, not simply multiple viewpoints of the same thing (e.g. Pathologic) or chronologically ordered campaigns (e.g. StarCraft).
