CodeMasters, Electronic Arts and Eidos has published most of these games

These are very common in body horror fiction and often are only named monstrosities of one sort or another (abominations, monsters, etc.) without specifying it in any manner.

These may be obviously a mass of combined bodies, or only apparent through closer inspection.

This is NOT for Frankenstein style combinations.
