A 4:1 aspect ratio can be achieved with home systems by putting three 4:3 monitors side by side. Arcade units with this aspect ratio often use a 4:3 monitor directly in front of the players and two 4:3 monitors below the players view and facing upward. The two upward-facing monitors are reflected buy mirrors to appear to the left and right of the 'center' monitor. When done well, this gives the appearance of a single seemless widescreen display.
