Alternate name: Nuclear theme

The historical Atomic Age officially began July 16, 1945, (during World War II) with the Trinity test detonation. This historical era centers on atomic and the later thermonuclear bombs and related subjects. However, this Atomic Age theme tag is broader and also includes subjects centered on medical, energy, transportation, space travel, contamination, and byproducts (such as nuclear waste). It also begins (historically) in the late 19th century with the discovery of x-rays, radioactivity, the electron, alpha radiation and beta radiation. And dozens of discoveries preceding the Trinity detonation. Additionally, fictional atomic age themes are not bound to any real time frame or series of events.
