This is in contrast to artistic language which is mostly intended to look pretty without (necessarily) having any actual meaning but can with less straightforward translation compared to the 1:1 conversion you can do with ciphers.

Good well known examples of ciphers are the alien texts in Commander Keen and Al Bhed in FFX.
