Whose side a person is, is denoted by color they wear or use for insignia.

If a person, vehicle, structure, etc. can change allegiance, it will instantly get a paint job or change of clothes to match their new allegiance.

Also appears with some enemy color appearing on allies (e.g. eyes glowing red) when they're being mind controlled.

This is often not explained, noticed, or anything by the characters in the game. Pointing that this is simply interface kludge for the player rather than something that actually happens in-mythos.

For strategy games this should probably only be used when player can see it being trivially swapped under certain circumstances.
