Alternate names: Dance mat, Dance platform
The first video game about Dance pad was released on December 8, 1989.
A platform-like controller usually equipped with 4 or 8 directional "buttons" and possibly some others to help control the game's other functionality (such as a start, pause and select buttons). Operated by standing in the middle and stepping on the buttons to activate them. More talented folks can actually dance while playing a game using these, but that requires practice and is superfluous for the game itself.
