Player count adjusted difficulty

Video game concept

Difficulty automatically changes with the number of players in game.

Difficulty: Single - Levels - Aspects
... Mid-game switch - Evaluation - Automatic - Player count adjusted

* Player versus environment
May affect actual difficulty or simply increase the number of opponents or make the existing enemies harder to defeat. Common method is to multiple enemy health and possibly other statistics by the number of players, possibly slightly less.

This is in contrast to the old where games get easier with the increasing number of players (more people dealing with the exactly same threat), with this they get harder instead (or at least try to).

The first Player count adjusted difficulty video game was released in 1991.

2K Games, Blizzard Entertainment and Tripwire Interactive published most of these games.
