This Plantronics Colorplus is literally two CGA cards connected together. 640x200 composite 16 color would have blown gamers' minds in 1982. The 'normal CGA' modes were also much sharper when this card was used. The ATI Graphics Solution and the Paradise AutoSwitch EGA 480 had a Plantronics mode.

In practical terms, a Plantronics Colorplus card had original CGA with programmable pallette and hercules compatibility, provided nearly the samw capabilities of EGA and Tandy graphics combined at nearly half the cost of an EGA card (without hercules).

Commodore PC clones used a custom ATI Graphics Solution 3 card with Plantronics mode and enhanced CGA options. Later models used different cards with the same capabilities.

A Plantronics card occupies the same memory in the system bus as a single CGA card and can be used alongside an MDA for dual monitors.

Someone wrote a Colorplus driver for Sierra SCI0 games.
