Game depicts terrain elevation but it has no notable effect, bullets pass through hills and higher ground has no benefits over lower.

Note that indirect fire weapons (e.g. artillery) still impact on the terrain, and explosives and other wide area effects may be affected by terrain elevation (the explosions simply not reaching the lower/higher areas).

Higher elevation should allow at minimum longer view range if nothing else. It's also more defensible against assault, at least in terms of medieval warfare, due to various factors.
