Falling out of the play field results in death. As opposed to transitioning to a different area. This can coexist.

Distinguishable from death pits in that it would seem more logical to transition to an area instead. For instance, a player climbs a very short ladder to transition to a new area. Once their he leaps from the ladder to return to the previous area but unexpectedly dies instead.
