A type of puzzle games where the aim is to find some hidden object(s) via perception, which may be used to solve additional puzzles. Possibly based on the Where's Wally/Waldo books which embody the game mechanic.

Hidden object games strain more player's perceptiveness than challenge them intellectually like most other puzzles do.

Many hidden object games do not actually require solving any additional puzzles besides finding the objects, though some do additionally involve using the objects you've been told to find.

A non-video game example of the genre are the numerous Where's Waldo games/books.
