Usually cases dealing with what is and what isn't human, often comes up in context of human enhancement. Fantasy oriented fiction tends to deal more with where the human ends and the monster begins (see Frankenstein). Generally the line between humanity and "The Other" and when the latter is perceived as somehow bad, (morally) unnatural, sign of madness, evil or just generally "Wrong".
