Interrogation can be passive or aggressive. It can sometimes involve intimidation, deception, physical abuse, and negotiation. The point of interrogation is to gather information from the interrogee. Not everyone who is interrogated is purposefully trying to hide information. But it is common in entertainment (though less interesting) for them to be unwilling to reveal information. Not all interrogations are of crime suspects; bystanders are the more common interrogee; likewise, people with no useful information.
