Practice mode

Video game concept

Includes a practice mode or similar.

Alternate name: Training mode

The first video game about Practice mode was released in 1983.

Powerhoof, Capcom and Valve has published most of these games

In fighting games it's fairly common to have a practice mode where the opponent either does nothing or only moves about slightly (does not attack), the opponent is usually undefeatable in this mode as well to make it easier to continuously practice various moves.

Unlike tutorials, this has no instructions available and is intended for practising what the player already knows rather than learning new things (though they may accidentally learn something new as well, but that's beside the point).
