Alternate name: Combo abilities

See also: action chaining
One example would be an attack ability that on first activation causes the character to dash forward slowing anyone hit, while second activation of the same ability within the follow-up 3 seconds or so would cause the character to do a wide slash but not move at all, and third activation (if again done within 3 seconds of the second activation) would cause the character to do a backflip about same distance as the first dash did.

Another example could be an ability that raises an force field around the character that protects them, however, if activated a second time when the force field is still up it would explode, causing damage to nearby opponents instead of refreshing it.

If cooldowns are involved, these particular abilities go on cooldown only after the full combo has been performed or the ability timeouts.

Despite combos being mentioned, this is NOT for basic combos where you hit same attack to produce effectively same attack but with maybe more power and different animation (it still does the same thing, thus no multiple stages even if the animation is different).
