Lacks an introduction to the story, protagonist, and such in game - which would tell who the protagonist is, why they are doing whatever it is they're doing, and what's happening - but has such in supplementary material, such as the manual.

Notable people involved: John Carmack, John Romero, Kevin Schilder, Paul Radek and James Schmalz

Not to be confused with non-linear story where introduction can happen sometime later, though they're capable of lacking an intro as well.

This is not about lack of information along the way from which player can piece together the answers. Nor lack of intro cinematic or similar, any introductory content (such as prologue), qualifies for intro.

Limitations:
* Sports, puzzle, simulation, and such should not generally be included.
* Games completely lacking a story should not be included.
