Object imprinting

Other (objects, etc.) concept

Objects, mainly tools, gain traits of the person using them or the place they're stored in.

Alternate names: Psychic imprinting, Empathic imprinting

Usually seen in a very minor role in item descriptions (should not count for this tag unless it's common) but barely ever a major concept, probably never done as happening in-game.

Commonly this requires exposure the length of years, decades if not centuries. Commonly seen with weapons that emanate evil due to being used by evil people.

This can also include objects gaining traits based on what they're used for. Such as a weapon becoming "evil" if it's used for countless murders, especially of the innocent. Essentially reflecting what the user is, but still separate of the user's own evil.

The imprint can rarely if ever be removed, it's like a permanent stain or blessing on the tools. Usually these are unremovable even if "permanent" enchantments are.

Limitations:
* Not for objects gaining abilities depending on who wields them (and losing them and gaining new ones as the user changes).
* Not for sentient artefacts becoming more powerful on their own right (e.g. gaining experience and leveling).
