Parallax scrolling

Software concept

A 2D graphics technique that gives an otherwise flat background a sense of depth by moving the background layer(s) at different speed (usually slower) than the foreground (game area).

The first video game about Parallax scrolling was released on June 25, 1985.

Arcen Games, Raw Fury Games and IndiePub has published most of these games

3D games do have this by nature and thus are ineligible for being included.

Editor note: parallax should not redirect to this as that can also refer to parallax mapping, a related but completely different graphics technique.
