Persistent minions

Other (objects, etc.) concept

Minions or similar stick around with the player across missions, maps, etc. However, this does not mean they can not be lost. Should only be used when unusual, such as in strategy games.

Alternate names: Persistent units
Name variations: permanent minions, permanent units

This is one of the defining traits of 4X, grand strategy, tactical RPGs and tactical strategy games. Possibly originally seen in sports management games.

This likely means that recruitment happens only out of combat, out of missions, etc.
