Navigation by points of interest
Video game concept
Player navigates the gameworld by targeting points of interest rather than manually controlling the whole movement. This can be long distance POIs or short distance, but only as long as this is true for all of the game and not just overworld or similar.

This essentially restricts player from moving anywhere that is not a point of interest somehow, so there's no wasted travel unless some of the POIs are red herrings or fluff.
