The G20 pronounced "The New World Order" but this name (and policy) hasn't gained wide acceptance. But neither has "Post-Cold War Era". As of 2009, this era continues.
Long after the Cold War ended, vast weapons arsenals, factories, economies trained militaries, cultures, steriotypes, propagandas, and government structures and policies and treaties remained in place that were created only because of the Cold War. These institutions sometimes remained with various levels of repurposing or not. Or they were dismantled. The consequences of the Cold War continue as bits and pieces of it continue to fuel or ignite satellite conflicts. For instance, the threat of nuclear weapons ending up in the hands of criminals, terrorists, or small countries that otherwise would never be expected to have them. Some of the companies that manufactured Cold War weapons continue to do so; offering them to countries that had been minor players (or pawns) in the Cold War. They could be used on other countries, on their own people, resold, or stolen. Scientists were left without jobs but still have knowledge of destructive technologies. They may choose to sell their services to other parties or be forced too. Allies of major Cold War players often feel betrayed because they are less likely to get help now that war is over. Or they may find their tactics that were trained in, allowed to do, or even endorsed or ordered to do during the Cold War are now frowned upon and/or considered illegal, acts of war, or acts of terrorism. Many allies were betrayed during the Cold War itself when policy shifted. They now live in a world where no superpower countries have a say in their actions and the means for their revenge are available. Many military personnel become mercenaries to continue in their chosen profession even though their countries no longer employ them. State secrets are being made public, or even being sold at auction. These can lead to strong feelings, charges of war crimes, and various efforts to demand supposed justice for long past incidents. For instance, a senator in the US purposed a bill that would simultaneously increase the likely hood of capitol punishment for past espionage against the USA while simultaneously offering medals, recognitions, financial compensation, for past espionage on behalf of the USA. In both cases, citizenship is irrelevant.. One former spy reportedly remarked, "I'm pretty sure I qualify for both, in several countries."
All this makes for good videogame premises.
