Realistic ranges
Video game concept
It is extremely common for strategy games to have greatly reduced ranges for everything from sight to weapons, this tag shows which deviate from this.

This is also tied to the fact that a lot of games don't keep proportions realistic.
Usually you see characters with sight range that is less or equal than you could throw a rock at, with weapon ranges commonly less than that. Sometimes you even see characters who have longer range than they can actually see themselves, which is ridiculous considering this means they can fire pinpoint accuracy without seeing their target as long a someone else is there to tell them approximately where they are. This makes more sense with longbow men and artillery who fire at arc and usually count in the large numbers of archers (rain of arrows is bound to hit something) or simply the devastating effect (explosives) of the weapon despite lack of accuracy.
Not so interesting for games that aren't from topdown perspective as they tend to limit the locations rather than sight or the weapons themselves.
