Player is asked for confirmation before performing a potentially dangerous or even fatal action, such as walking into a stream of lava or diving into a lake when the character can't swim properly.

Either a clear prompt or the character refuses the action until player repeats the command. Especially common in adventure games where the character notes how dangerous it is to do so or how unwilling they're to do it when initially commanded but concede when the player commands the action again. Whether or not conceding to the action ever has any purpose other than graphically killing the character.
This is NOT for confirmations for starting a new game (when one is already in progress), skipping game save, deleting a game save or similar actions.
