Includes one or more areas where the player character can not attack or be attacked by anyone. Enforced either by changed game mechanics or the player character simply refuses to attack.


Alternate names: Safe haven, Weapons free zone

The first video game about Safe zone was released in 1982.

Blizzard, Bethesda Softworks and Capcom has published most of these games

This does NOT include areas where attacking anyone spells almost certain doom for the player character, simply areas where attacking is impossible.

Usually the safe zone is in form of a habitat, such as a town, or a building within a habitat if the habitat itself is not such.
