Stealth sequence

Video game concept

Includes one or more segments where the player must use stealth, or where stealth becomes mandatory rather than an option.

Generally cases where the use of stealth is forced upon the player in certain missions while completely impossible outside of them even if it could be useful.

This tag will become mostly obsolete if/when strengthed tags are implemented.

This has a tendency to crop up in games as a demonstration of the game engine's capabilities rather than to actually make the game more interesting.

In stealth games, or other games where stealth is normally possible but not required, this would indicate that in certain situations/levels/missions/etc. stealth is enforced and any failure in it (being detected) would cause the game to end.
* Stealth

The first Stealth sequence video game was released on May 22, 2001.

Vivendi Universal Games, Sega and Konami published most of these games.
