This is not for games were lack of sound is detrimental to game play or the game runs but is entirely unplayable without sound. Rather, this is in cases where the game checks for working sound hardware and refuses to run without it, or the the game will not even install if it doesn't find working sound hardware. This does include 'sound tests' where, before the game begins or installs, it plays a sound and asks the user a specific question about the sound that cannot be answered if the sound did not play correctly. Not: "Did you here a beep?" (since the user could say "yes" even if they heard nothing); more along the lines of, "How many beeps did you hear?"
