Tethered projectiles

Video game concept

Projectiles move with the one who shot them. The effect is similar to carrying a translucent pipe in front of you and shooting through it, turning/strafing causes any projectiles still in the pipe to move with you in relation.

Alternate name: Piped projectiles

Somewhat common in older scrolling/fixed shooters.

At most extreme cases this can be used to mimic guided projectiles, dodging around obstacles. Likely omits actual guided projectiles and others with more complex pathing.

Not to be confused with imparted momentum, which does not give steering to the projectiles as this does.
