Other (objects, etc.) concept

Once time limit is reached, or just certain time has passed, a hunter of some description is spawned that proceeds to chase the player until they finish the objective or are defeated.

This does not require there is a time limit of any sort, only that the hunter spawns reliably within certain (possibly variable) time frame.

The hunter has a tendency to break normal rules other enemies follow (such as passing through walls and other obstructions without effort) and being immortal, though neither of these conditions are required.

Probable reasons for this existing vary from forcing progression to a certain pace or simply discourage staying in "easy" area and farm resources without effort.

For arcade games or arcade game adoptions/ports, this is simply there to limit single player hogging a machine for too long for any reason, such as being too careful.
