Reports, either as is or has an option to for it, usage statistics or similar metrics to developer and/or publisher for the purpose of usage analysis and any action based on the results of that. Usually stored anonymously.

Usual reason is market analysis for farther development of a franchise. For example: identifying what features people spend the most amount of time with, as in what features are the most enjoyable, thus improve on that in current or future products. Remove or consider for re-making features people spend very little time with (ignored or little used features) or features they spend too much time with. Other possibilities are identifying problems with the game balance.
