World Scale

Locations concept

Container group to house groups related to the scale of the game world.

Macroscopic Scale is what is visible to the naked eye in human terms, comparison to Microscopic and smaller. It is implied that most games are macroscopic scale, or larger, if not stated.

This is a container group; its children are:

Enlarging protagonistThe main character increases in size, beyond what is normal for them (that is, not including growing back to their original size after being shrunk).1982 / 201813 games
LilliputianThe protagonist sees the environment from Lilliputian perspective with everything being abnormally large, likely because the protagonist him-/herself is extremely small (or they happen to be in some world of giants).1991 / 2017100 games
Microscopic ScalePlayer interacts on a scale allowing them to see things too small to be seen without a microscope. (too short)1991 / 201618 games
Quantum ScalePlayer interacts on a scale allowing them to 'see' quantum particles (smaller than electrons). (too short)2010 / 20155 games
Shrinking protagonistThe main character decreases in size, to something smaller than their normal (that is, not including shrinking back to their normal size after being enlarged).1982 / 201839 games
Sub-atomic ScalePlayer interacts on a scale allowing them to 'see' subatomic particles. (too short)3 games
Submicroscopic ScalePlayer interacts on a scale allowing them to 'see' submicroscopic particles (smaller than can be seen with light).1983 / 20085 games
Worldscale is largerThe player can interact with the game world in a scale relatively and significantly different from human. In this case, as if they were larger.1988 / 201513 games
Worldscale is smallerThe player can interact with the game world in a scale relatively and significantly different from human. In this case, as if they were smaller.1980 / 201851 games
