Codename : Project Mercury.
First Sega's handheld console, the Game Gear is also the third colour handheld system. This console can be seen as a light portable version of the Master System, and lots of games were released on both console, especially thanks to the easiness to port Master System games to Game Gear.
The biggest issue of the system was battery life, as 6 alkaline batteries lasted 5 to 6 hours (whereas 4 Game Boy betteries lasted 10 to 14 hours).
