Fasted 8-bit BASIC ever made. Performance for BASIC operations ranged from 20% to 470% faster than 16-bit IBM PC BASIC operations. The 800 series models were even faster than the 80. The ABC would automatically partially compile BASIC code to Z80 machine code. This allowed amateurs to make games that ran as fast as professionally machine coded games (but didn't automatically make better game designers :P
