Magnavox Odyssey (100)
Made by Magnavox in 1972
Generation: 1
Released games per year
This is a multigame console that uses jumper cards (cartridges) and TV overlays to create complete games. 12 games came with the system. 4 games and a lightgun were also available as separate purchases.
The console was called "Magnavox Odyssey". But, some models were marked "Odyssey 100" on the underplate. This can be confusing since there is an actual "Odyssey 100" TV unit that has Tennis and Hockey built-in and is otherwise unrelated to this system.

Designed by Ralph Baer.
In Japan, the Odyssey was distributed by Nintendo. So it was actually Nintendo's first videogame system in a way.
