Super Street Fighter II is a bit more of an upgrade than the previous incarnation of Street Fighter on the SNES. Whereas Turbo added some new colors and moves, Super adds more of the same, plus new characters, updated backgrounds, some new voices, new character portraits, some redrawn sprites, and new play modes. It simply feels more polished and balanced than its predecessor. The team battle and tournament modes help to breathe a little new life into this aging game. This is the definitive version for casual fans to own; hardcore fans may still prefer the faster, more difficult Turbo. At its core, it's still the same old Street Fighter II. However, the new bells and whistles are enough to at least warrant a look.
