This is a somewhat expanded re-release of SimCity 3 with mostly a small number of new buildings, terrains, and such that represent the world more globally.

For any linux with 2.2.x kernel and glibc 2.1. Also needs 4MB video card, XFree86 3.3.5+, 16-bit Color and an OSS compatible 16-bit Sound card. Demo available. English, French, German, Dutch, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish.
Running the game on Ubuntu requires twothings. First you need SimCity 3000 Unlimited version 2.0. If you don't have that version, use Loki's official patch "sc3u-2.0a-x86.run" that can be legally and freely obtained where find (on the internet for example). Second you need to set an environmental variable to fake an older kernel version, LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.2. This can be done automagically each time by typing the following kung-foo in a terminal:
sudo sh -c 'cat > /usr/local/bin/sc3u << EOF
#!/bin/bash
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.2 /usr/local/games/SC3U/sc3u
EOF'
Hit <Enter> and from now on the command "sc3u" will run the game.
