A sub-genre of beat 'em ups that originated from P&P RPGs where it's seen as derogatory. Differentiated from most beat 'em up by the fact that you use edged melee weapons instead of bare hands.
Although sub-genre of beat 'em ups and RPGs, this doesn't really require either,
but appears most often with the following genres:
* action-adventure
* action-RPG
* beat 'em up
