No air control

Video game concept

Once player character is in air (because of jumping, falling, or other reasons), player has absolutely no control over direction they're going or where they will land except via additional movement abilities such as double-jump, air dash, or similar.

For very old games (sometime before 1990s) this is rather worthless as this was the standard before air control was invented, for modern games this is much more interesting as air control is generally expected even at extremely tiny quantity.
