Video game concept

A small map shown constantly on screen that shows the whole map or small portion (centered on the protagonist). Often in a corner of the screen, though sometimes overlayed with the main view.

Mostly minimaps are seen as aimed towards casual gamers, with hardcore gamers preferring games without one.

This is the norm in strategy games, so tagging them is not particularly useful.
