Alternate name: RTG

Retargetable graphics is a API intended to be used for device drivers. Commodore had planned such an API for Amiga but failed to produce it before the company's bankruptcy and liquidated of all assets. In repose to this, many 3rd parties created their own APIs; all incompatible with each other along with other limitations and quality issues. Picasso96 emerged as the most popular and was compatible with another popular API known as CyberGraphX. Picasso96 was adapted to become RTG and was integrated into AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition. At least 50 models of graphics cards were manufactured that support RTG; including ones from companies that generally did not support Amiga hardware. There are even ISA and PCI cards and at least 1 AGP card.
