Liberation Army's interesting. It's a hybrid of a bunch of genres -- war, strategy, shootemup, all in one. It's kind of what you'd get if you crossed the recent Dynasty Warriors titles with Super Robot Wars and threw a little Dodonpachi into the mix. It's definitely not an easy game, though.
Please note that the patch will work on Liberation Army 1.35, but not Liberation Army Plus 1.02. I'm honestly not sure what LA Plus has to offer that the normal, freeware Liberation Army does not, but if you like the game, you may want to purchase a license key from Kou for LA Plus on your own.
