Description

WarCraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans was a black comedy point-and-click adventure computer game under development by Blizzard Entertainment that was set in the Warcraft universe, and cancelled before its release. American company Animation Magic was out-sourced due to their experience in classical two-dimensional animation to produce the twenty-two minutes of fully animated sequences, the game's artwork, the coding of the engine and the implementation of the sound effects. Blizzard then provided all the designs, the world backgrounds, sound recording and ensured storyline continuity. Four or five months after Blizzard had released Battle.net and Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal had shipped, Blizzard began development on a title that would be cancelled just over a year later. The game concerned a orc by the name of Thrall, who, as a baby, is taken from his clan and raised by a Lieutenant Blackmoore in his castle. Blackmoore hopes to raise the orc into an unstoppable warrior under his control. Before he can enact his plan, the orc escapes. Players would've helped Thrall in his travels to claim his rightful place as ruler of his clan and defeat the schemes of Blackmoore. Following its cancellation, the game's story was turned into a novel called Warcraft: Lord of the Clans. As for the game itself, the only way people could experience it was through videos, most notably a playthrough of the game by a Youtube user by the name of 0manbiker0. That all changed on September 9, 2016 when an anonymous user by the name of Reiddor finally released a buggy yet near completed version of the game onto the internet 18 years after the game's cancellation.
