I wrote this game. I was editor of CPC Computing and received a review copy of the official version prior to its first general release in the UK.
That was on a Friday. By Monday I had my own version working, so I probably wrote the world's first ever Tetris rip-off.

My version went on to be published by the company I worked for (Database Publications, later Europress) and was given away with subscriptions.
