Ballistix | Psyclapse (Reflections) | 1989 | Tired of soccer? Bored with pinball games? Apparently you need a dose of Ballistix, the toughest, fastest and cruelest of all computer ball games. Ballistix literally explodes with excitement, challenges and 130 different levels, all full of adventures and surprises. The objective is simple: you have to score more goals than the opponent. But - the screen is full of splitters, dozens of caves in which the ball may hide, bumpers that will kick the ball around the playfield, red arrows that will accelerate the ball to unbelievable speeds and magnets that will pull the ball towards them. And more and more... Ballistix is that game you can program according to your needs: you can play against the computer or a friend, you set the different speeds, set the bonuses - and in the end of an exhausting and enjoyable game you can write your name next to the truly greatest. Ballistix is a tough, fast and challenging game - in fact, everything you like in a good game.*** [97]*** [134]*** [80]*** [49]*** [2]*** [82]*** [85]*** [17]*** [22]*** [1]*** [52] | Amiga | labelimagesubject |

Captain Fizz Meets the Blaster-Trons | Psyclapse | 1988 | The Blaster-Trons have invaded the planet Icarus, which is set as 20 levels on top of the last. The people can only be saved if a hero or two step forward and reach each of the 20 lifts in this Gauntlet-style game. Two players is the ideal, as gameplay is simultaneous and only ever fills half the screen for each player. Each level has doors which are locked with colour coded keys, as well as doors which can only be used in one direction, and lots of long corridors and mazy layouts. Both yourself and the aliens are armed with lethal lazers, although you can take several hits before dying.*** [161]*** [80]*** [76]*** [2]*** [83]*** [49]*** [33]*** [85]*** [22]*** [1]*** [52] | Amiga | labelimagesubject |
Captain Fizz Meets the Blaster-Trons | Psyclapse | 1988 | [22]*** [1]*** [52]***It's double fun and double trouble all the way in Captain Fizz, the most exciting simultaneous two-player game you and a friend are ever likely to play. It's a whole new world of split-screen, high-speed action, as BOTH of you take on the nasty Blaster-Trons infesting the planet Icarus. Yup, it's a tough mission alright, but you might just win out with the right blend of co-operation, courage, laser-hot reflexes, tactical sense... and brains. The action is fast and furious in Captain Fizz, but if you can't work out the right tactics you'll both be dead meat. There are 22 levels of savage and relentless action to battle through before you reach your objective, the central computer that's causing the evil infestation. You'll never get there, though, unless you put your heads together and co-operate; you buddy can't do it on his own, and neithe can you. This is one program where even the easy games are hard. So remember - united you stand, but divided you fall... | Atari ST | labelimagesubject |

Never Mind | Psyclapse (MC Lothlorien) | 1989 | [1]*** [52]*** [37]***Never Mind features over 250 screens of stunning 3D isometric graphics and arcade quality animated sprites. Each screen presents a different puzzle ranging in difficulty from the exceptionally easy to the mind-boggling difficult. Your task it to reconstruct a series of pictures by collecting scattered tiles and placing them in the right sequence. It's an apparently simple assignment on the surface, but don't be fooled. You will also have to cope with tile-pinching chess pieces, dissolving tiles and causeways, transporter tiles, and a horrendously tight time limit. Never Mind is a unique combination of arcade action and mind numbing problem solving, and uses a clever blend of computer-generated and hand-crafted puzzles. Is your brain up to the most intriguing challenge of the decade? There is only one way to find out. | Atari ST | labelimagesubject |
