Buick Classic Golf | General Motors (Buick) | 1991 | Buick Dimensions 1991 is not the first ad package by Buick for the Mac. But it is the first to include a game. Classic Jumpman | Ingenieurbüro FRANKE | 2001 | Years ago there was a game called Jumpman running from a floppy boot disk for the IBM PC with 8088 at 4.77 MHz. Unfortunately this game was implemented in a way that makes it unplayable even with an 80286 at 6 MHz. The actual game Classic Jumpman is mostly equivalent with the optic, sound, and course of the play of the original. However, it runs on any PC using DOS. If there is a Soundblaster compatible sound card installed, it will be detected and used for sounds and music. [GeeTee]*** | MS-DOS | labelimagesubject |

Don't Fall | Magnemedia | 1978 | This game is a variant of the Hangman concept. Rather than a drawing a stickman hanged in a gallows, an animated human figure walks toward a cliff. 1 player or 2 players take turns guessing a letter in a mystery word or phrase of know length. An unsuccessful guess causes the human to take a step. The human figure is 50% of the screen height and is drawn in the Apple ][ lo-res (40x40) mode with text at the bottom. | Apple II E | labelimagesubject |

Jones in the Fast Lane | Sierra On-Line | 1991 | Jones in the Fast Lane is a simulation of a person's life, presented as a turn-based strategy game. You can play by yourself, or compete with other human players or the computer-controlled Jones. At the beginning of the game you determine what your goals are, in four categories - Money, Happiness, Education and Career: the higher your goals, the longer the game. The game itself is presented as something akin to a board game. The board represents the city where you live. Each turn (here, a turn represents a week of your life) you have limited time to act, and you have to choose how to spend it. Walking somewhere else costs you time, as well as working, learning, and looking for a job. The first thing you should do is looking for a job at an employment center. Since initially you have no education, experience or work history, you can only choose the simplest, lowest-paying jobs - such as a janitor or a cook. Later on, as you enroll into various courses at an university, you'll get smart enough to get the high-ranking jobs. But remember that some jobs require you to buy and wear expensive clothes. Work isn't mandatory, and you can dedicate time to working whenever you feel like it. The money you get can be spent in many ways. You can buy a snack at a fast food restaurant (you should eat something each week, or next week you'll have less time due to hunger). You can buy some appliances for your house, lottery tickets, newspapers and more. You can also store your money in the bank (a wise choice, considering the ubiquity of pickpockets) or invest into stock market. Remember that you have to pay rent for your house - if you don't pay for a long time, your landlord will garnish some amount from the money you earn at work. But if you get enough cash, you can rent a luxury apartment and move out of the stinky hole inside which you've been spending your life earlier!*** [82]*** [49]*** [83]*** [33]***A slightly enhanced CD-ROM version of this game with additional animations and CD-quality music was released in 1992.*** [63]*** [52]*** [37] | MS-DOS | labelimagesubject |

Lemmings | Psygnosis (DMA Design) | 1991 | ADORABLE YET INCREDIBLY STUPID FUNNY CREATURES, LOST IN A MAZE OF CONFUSION. KNOWN FOR WALKING OFF CLIFFS, WANDERING AIMLESSLY INTO DANGEROUS PASSAGEWAYS AND DROWNING BY THE THOUSANDS IN SMALL POOLS OF WATER. WITHOUT YOUR HELP, THEY HAVE NO CHANCE FOR SURVIVAL. Thousands of Lemmings are on the loose, marching towards extinction unless you can save them. Without minds of their own, they are completely helpless, faithfully following their leader through 125 levels of blazing fires, endless canyons, deadly tunnels and ancient ruins. One thing's for sure their future lies in your hands, because beyond every obstacle awaits certain disaster. Lose one Lemming and you risk losing them all! You or you and a friend can command the Lemmings to dig, climb, tunnel, float and build their way to safety. But you have to be fast, because with each moment you hesitate, more Lemmings may drop from above! So you better be god. The farther you get, the faster the Lemmings hurtle towards their demise. One wrong move by you could wipe out an entire species!***They also released an Add-On titled "Oh No! More Lemmings" with more levels.***Covox Lemmings is identical to the original except for one bonus promotional level.***Review for Lemmings Data Disk add-on. [37] | MS-DOS | labelimagesubject |
