0x10c  MojangTBA0x10c is hex notation for 268.***The proper title shows the "c" is shown in superscript, meaning 0x10 to the power of c (in hexadecimal). Officially pronounced ten to the see. Or 16 to the power of 12 in decimal. Or fully calculated as 281,474,976,710,656 (the number of years added to 1998 by the computer bug).

A notable feature of this game is that all the spacecraft will have a fully emulated computer system with an accurately emulated late 80s CPU. In addition to this contributing to gameplay features, players will be able to pass the time (space travel will take a some time) by playing emulated 80s games.***In a parallel universe where the space race never ended, space travel was gaining popularity amongst corporations and rich individuals.
In 1988, a brand new deep sleep cell was released, compatible with all popular 16 bit computers. Unfortunately, it used big endian, whereas the DCPU-16 specifications called for little endian. This led to a severe bug in the included drivers, causing a requested sleep of 0×0000 0000 0000 0001 years to last for 0×0001 0000 0000 0000 years.
It’s now the year 281 474 976 712 644 AD, and the first lost people are starting to wake up to a universe on the brink of extinction, with all remote galaxies forever lost to red shift, star formation long since ended, and massive black holes dominating the galaxy.

Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight  Electronic Arts (EA Los Angeles)2010Includes two campaigns selectable after ~3 tutorial/prologue missions, both of which end in superficially same manner but have their own quirks which may be of interest, though in terms of sequels (if there ever will be such) there's little need for retconning either campaign as they are sufficiently separated/streamlined not to clash with each other (but can't exist simultaneously).

Personally the singleplayer portion is rather pointless with obvious focus on 2-3 player coops or larger pvp matches.

Most of the difficulty on solo/coop games comes from the fact that the enemy isn't limited to 3-6 MCV calldowns like you are and thus can never be truly defeated (usually it isn't the objective and when it is, they don't call new MCVs when one id destroyed).

For anyone wanting good solo game, better look at the older free CnC games (Tiberian Sun for example) or games unrelated to CnC series. Didn't try multiplayer, so it might be more interesting if that's your thing.***In the year 2062, humanity found itself on the brink of extinction. Tiberium, the mysterious, alien crystalline structure that infested Earth for decades and caused years of relentless conflict between the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the Brotherhood of Nod, was close to rendering the planet uninhabitable. In the midst of this crisis, Kane, Nod's prophetic leader, emerged from seclusion to deliver GDI the message that he had developed a system that could control Tiberium and harness its power. But he could not build this "Tiberium Control Network" without GDI's cooperation. Thus, the two opposing factions—GDI and Nod—found themselves in a desperate and unlikely alliance to stop Tiberium from extinguishing mankind.

"KANE. GDI. NOD. TIBERIUM. HOW WILL IT END?"
Now, after 15 years, the network is nearly complete. Tiberium is under strict control and our revitalized planet is on the cusp of a new age of prosperity and progress. It is only now that the world's citizens begin to seriously ponder why Kane chose to help, and what he will want in return. These questions and more lead to the dramatic final act of the 15-year Tiberium saga in Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight.

Kane. GDI. Nod. Tiberium. How will it end? Find out in Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight, told through gritty live-action cinematics, persistent player progression, and a multitude of innovations to the classic fast and fluid Command & Conquer gameplay.

[27]***It is one thousand years after Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. Raziel, once a mighty vampire and lieutenant of Kain, rises from eternal banishment where Kain put him out of jealous rage. Now, after having been freed by the Elder God, Raziel is out to free the world from the dreaded vampire clans and to destroy Kain himself!
The shadows of Nosgoth is a vast 3D world packed with deadly creatures, amazing graphics, and spectacular special effects. During his quest, Raziel survives by feeding on the souls of the undead and as Raziel defeats his enemies, he gains abilities and weapons that will allow him to ultimately challenge Kain himself.***Several hundreds of years after Kain decided to damn Nosgoth, he is now the Master of Nosgoth. He has 6 vampire lieutenants, one of which he will punish for an apparent reason of jealousy of the lieutenant developing a dark gift before the Master.

The lieutenant, Raziel, is condemned to destruction by being cast in the Lake of the Dead, but he is somehow saved from total annihilation by an unknown entity called the Elder God. He then vows vengeance against his former master, but when he returns to the material world he finds that much has changed.

This game is fully 3D and has been wrongly compared to Tomb Raider. The controls are actually good and precise, the 3D engine was the best of its time with very large and detailed environments. Raziel is no longer a typical vampire: instead of drinking blood, he devours souls, and has actually become a vampire hunter. He kills vampires by various means such as impalement or immolation. He can also shift back and forth between the spirit/spectral realm and the material realm when need be.

A bit later in the game he will find the Soul Reaver, but a different version of the sword than from Blood Omen: it's a spectral sword that is fused to his body and his very being. The Soul Reaver will become a key element in the Legacy of Kain storyline.

AMD's 3DNow! is advertized on the back cover, so obviously this game can benefit from it.***You're Raziel, one of Kain's Vampire Generals.. or rather, you were. Kain betrayed you, when you showed him that you had evolved beyond him. So he granted you death, by ripping out your new wings and throwing you down in to the Abyss. Dead, at least that's what you thought, you re-awaken in the Underworld, right under the nose the Elder. Confused, weak, and no longer a vampire, you set out to settle some matters with your former master, Kain.

More in-depth description:
... Although you were no longer a vampire, you still suffered some of their natural weaknesses, such that of water burning you like acid or sun scorching your skin like fire. However, you rid most of these weaknesses from yourself over time as you devour the souls of your slain enemies. You're young in your new form, though, and can't hold your physical form forever in the material realm, constantly draining your strength, the longer you stay there unsated. So at any time you're weakened too much, you're transported back into the spirit realm where you can sate your hunger with the lost souls. Your ability to transport yourself back and forth between material and spiritual realms is fundamental to your success, and adds an interesting depth to some puzzles and fights. However, you're practically immortal, even if you were to die, as if you could, you're transported back to the underworld, below throbbing tendrils and the everwatchful gaze of the Elder.
Nier  Square Enix (cavia)2010The Japanese got two versions of Nier, Gestalt and Replicant. In Gestalt the protagonist is a middle-aged man and father of Yonah, the girl, while in Replicant he's a teenager or so and brother of Yonah. Other than some dialog and plot changes to accommodate the difference in age and relation to Yonah, the games are identical.

Apparently Replicant version was only released on PS3.***Nothing is as it seems in Square Enix's latest action adventure game, set in a crumbling world plagued by disease and dark, unrecognizable creatures. Players assume the role of the unyielding protagonist, NIER, resolute in his quest to discover a cure for his daughter, who is infected with the Black Scrawl virus. With powerful allies and a mysterious book, NIER encounters things that will confound even the mightiest of warriors.
