Towns | SMP | 2012 | Developer Xavi Canal of SMP deemed the game complete and released it on Steam in 2012. Many fans considered the game incomplete. At the same time he turned maintenance development over to Moebius who planned to fix bugs and add features. Ben Palgi continued to do some maintenance with Moebius. Moebius was offered a profit percentage equating to much less than his usual salary for his work, but a 66% drop in sales lead to this percentage being a less than livable wage so development ceased. Open sourcing the game to achieve bug fixes and added features was discussed but rejected. Currently there are no plans for further development of Towns. A sequel with a better planned development model has been suggested and not dismissed. There was also another developer, SphaZ. SphaZ left the team early in the development but remains an avid player and fan of Towns. | labelimageminimize |
