Not quite the classic gameplay that has pushed the Final Fantasy series to the sucess it has now, this game is still one of the best I have ever played. The story is quite gripping, the graphics are very well done, and the gameplay was interesting enough to keep my attention. The game is long, however, and can take quite a while to beat. It brings back the class system seen in Final Fantasy III (NES) and Final Fantasy V (SNES). Among the differences are the battles, which are more of a stragitic campain than a standard RPG 'Attack, use magic, use item...) without thought. It is a fairly difficult game, but good to play. The enemies' levels increase in ratio to yours.***Still one of the best Strategy RPGs out there. If you're a fan of SRPGs... well I'm sure you've played this already. Chances are, this is the game that made you a fan of the genre as it was one of the first great SRPGs to be brought to the US.

Blaze & Blade: Eternal Quest  Funsoft (T&E Soft)1998Blaze & Blade is a "hack and slash" action RPG with a heavy emphasis on puzzle solving. The game allows for characters to be created with one of eight classes and offered the ability to choose the sex of each character.

In the game adventurers come across an ancient lithograph during their travels, supposedly very valuable, and desire to verify the authenticity of this artifact. To do so, the adventurers dive into more dungeons to collect magical gems which in legend fit into the inset of the lithograph. The lithograph united with these magical gems is said to impart great power to the wielders of this artifact, and if the adventurers do receive great power due to reuniting these treasures it will serve as proof to them that they have found the legendary artifact of lore.***European version
