Radar - 1973 to 2020
Player has a radar or similar device, or an unexplained display that mimics it, that gives positional info to player of various objects of interest and possibly friend-or-foe detection. Whether or not it is a literal radar.
Imperfect radar(Unreliable radar;Faulty radar) - 2008 to 2015
The radar can't be relied on to keep track of almost anything, it will not detect everything, it will not even detect things player can clearly see themselves, it will lose tracking (even without countermeasures being used or hiding), etc..
