The Oric company was created by Tangerine Computer Systems in 1983.

Several models from the "Oric" line:

* Oric-1 (1983)
- 1 MHz 6502A CPU
- 16 KB or 48 KB RAM variants
- Sold at £129 or £169 depending on the model
- 160 000 units sold in UK and 50 000 in France.

* Oric Atmos (1984)
- Includes a real keyboard + updated V1.1 ROM to the Oric-1.
- 3.5-inch floppy drive, modem and printer were available for the Atmos at the end of 1984.

* Oric Stratos (1985)
Soon after its release, the company was bought by the French company "Eureka", which continued producing Oric Stratos.

* Oric Telestrat (1986)

Two clones were released in Easter Europe: Oric Nova 64 by a Yougoslavian company and Pravetz 8D in 1985 by a Bulgarian company.
